David Johnston is a graphic designer/illustrator. This is his second book—he also did the illustrations for a children's fitness program book. When he was asked (the inevitable question) at age 5, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" he replied, "An artist." His answer has never changed over the years. After high school he attended a three year college program to learn the graphic design trade and has been working in that field ever since.
