Are We There Yet?
Anyone who has ever traveled with a child in a car has heard the phrase, "Are we there yet?"
Perhaps in these tough economic times the adult equivalent to this phrase is, "Can we spend yet?"
If you're like me, you have a seemingly never ending list of needs and wants and when one item is stroked off the list, there seems to be another ready to take its place. This definitely comes from being in a society that equates the accumulation of "things" with prosperity, and from living in a land of plenty. It makes it hard to focus on what we do have, instead of thinking about what we don't have, when we see all the things that are available to make our lives fuller, easier and more enjoyable (or whatever else the advertisers tell us).
